Please join us for the opening of Aphorism and Sea Shell on Saturday, June 6th, from 3 pm -6 pm.

Aphorism and Sea Shell is a group show featuring Ximaps Dong, Sierra Kanistanaux, and Ariella Robinson. The show is about mythological curiosity, ancestral connections, powerful stillness, and ever beauty.

These three artists’ practices combine archival methodologies, in which ritual and historical curiosity play a big part and, at times, have a political aim. The result is a universal language of beauty and complexity. Through media such as ceramics, photography, textiles, and installation, there’s a nod to and a symbiosis with the unexplainable, unattainable, and what the natural world offers.

June 20-21: MIDSOMMAR at Strike-Slip

Please join us during the weekend of June 20-21 for a pop-up weekend with NEVEREND Studios clothing line, created by Haley Slocum. The pop-up will celebrate NEVEREND Studio’s newest collection designed by Slocum, entitled Chrysalism. Chrysalism is inspired by the natural act of Chrysalism, the amniotic tranquility of undergoing a metamorphosis in solitude, only to emerge into the world with wings.

We'll have items from the latest line at the gallery, some drinks, and celebrate the summer solstice!

July 11-12, 12:00-6:00PM: Tattoo pop-up with Ximaps Dong

Ximaps Dong, a multidisciplinary artist featured in Aphorism and Sea Shell, is also a tattoo artist. They will set up a tattoo shop at the gallery and offer flash tattoos from their portfolio.
